Baccarat

A game known for its chance with no skill or strategy involved, each player’s moves are forced by the cards the dealer is dealt. There are three possible result with baccarat they are "Player”, “Banker” or “Tie” and this does not mean that “Player” is the person sitting at the table and “Banker” is the house, these are simply ways on which the  gambler can bet.
The value of a hand in Baccarat are that 10s and all face cards (J,Q,K) are all worth zero, Aces are worth one point and cards range from 2-9 are worth the face value. How to calculate a hand in Baccarat is the player takes the sum of all the cards modulo 10, so basically adding the value of the cards and ignoring the tens digit so (5+5= 10 but in baccarat this is 0).

Cards are dealt to the player first followed by the banker and then the player again than the banker, this is the initial deal which consists of two cards that are then turned over and added together. At this point the player and the banker have an option of drawing another card or standing on the hand where the highest total wins. If either the Player or the Banker receives an 8 or 9 on the initial deal it is known as a natural and no further cards are drawn.
Ways to play the cards on the table;

  • The player did not draw a card, the banker draws if he has either 0-5 and stands on a 6-7
  • The players draws a 2/3, the banker draws if he has 0-4, and stands if he has 5-7
  • The player draws a 4/5, the banker draws if he has 0-5, bankers stands if he has 6-7
  • The player draws a 6/7, banker draws if he has 0-6, stands on 7
  • The player draws ace, face-card, 9 or 10, the baker draws if he has 0-3, and stand if he has 4-7

The payout is according to house rules so when either the player or the banker wins usually even money 1-1 will be paid to the plays and 95% to the banker, 5% to the house. Some casinos when the Banker wins with a 6 the banker is then paid 50% or half the original bet. All tied bets are paid 8 to 1 odds and all bets on the "player" or "banker" square remain in the place and active for the next game.
