Roulette

The “little wheel” of the casino where players may choose to place bets on either a number, range of numbers, odds or evens and the colors “Red” or “Black”. To determine the winning number or color a croupier spins a wheel in one direction, then spins a ball in the opposite direction within the wheel. The ball will lose momentum and fall onto the wheel and into one of 37 (European roulette) or 38 (American Roulette) colored and numbered pockets on the wheel.

Playing against the casino there are two ways in which a player can bet:

Inside
This technique is where the player places a bet on the exact number of the pocket in which the ball will land or a small range of pockets based on the proximity on the layout. Below are ways to place bets with an inside bet.

Straight up: A single number bet

Split: Betting on two adjoining number, vertical or horizontal, the bet is placed on the line between the numbers

Street: Betting on three numbers in a single horizontal line

Corner or Square: Betting on four numbers in a square layout vertical or horizontal intersection.

Six Line: Betting on two adjoining streets, placed at a corresponding intersection

Trio: Betting on an intersection between 0,1 and 2 or 0,2 and 3.

Outside

Players will bet on larger positional grouping of pockets, whether the number is odd or even or the pocket color. The way to bet on an outside bet are as follows:

1-18: betting on one of the first low eighteen numbers

19-36: betting on the higher range of eighteen numbers

Red or Black: Betting on a color

Even or Odd: Placing a bet on either an even or an odd

Dozen Bets: betting on a group of twelve numbers, first (1-12), second (13-24) and third (25-36)

Column Bets: Betting on all twelve numbers on any of the three vertical lines (1-4-7-10 or down to 34)

The winnings of either an inside or outside bet depend on the probability. There are normally minimum and maximum bets for each inside or outside bet.

Number Sequences

Numbers on a roulette table range from 1- 10 and 19- 28, odd are red and even are black, then the second half of the table ranges from 11-18 and 29-37 odds are now black and evens are red. There is a green pocket numbered 0 and for American table and there is a 00 that is a second green pocket.

Roulette has been around for decades and is a quite interesting and fun game, personally I have seen many big wins with the game and it can be a very rewarding game. Most online casinos now offer roulette so there are plenty of places where you can jump on in to play, please have a look at our casino reviews to find the roulette wheel for you.
